We’ve been baking up something delicious over the past few months and we’re thrilled to finally be introducing our newest Evive product. Our new Muffin Bites are sure to be a hit in any household. These delicious muffin bites come in two flavours – Carrot and Banana Choco. They are 100% plant-based, gluten free, dairy free and are loaded with hidden fruits and vegetables. All you need to grab is a muffin pan and a flavour of your choice. Zero muffin liners, cooking spray or additional ingredients are required – it really is that easy. Enjoy the taste of a freshly baked muffin without having to do any dishes afterwards – hooray! We can’t wait for you to try them!

For Evive’s 4th anniversary in 2019, Claudia and I decided to start the Plant a Tree initiative – where we contribute to planting new forests. To implement this project, we proudly partnered with Compensation CO2 Québec.

Compensation CO2 Québec is formed of forestry and environmental professionals. The team ensures the implementation and the rigorous monitoring of many reforestation projects.

In 2020 and 2021, thanks to your new purchases of boxes of 25 Evive products, we were able to contribute to plant 2 new mixed forests in the Eastern Townships. These forests allow us to offset a portion of the greenhouse gas emissions generated by our operations.

Every tree has its place

The development of each forest requires several steps to ensure its success, starting with proper plant site location. This step helps guarantee the success and optimal growth of each plantation.

The survival rate of the plantations is then measured at least twice during the first 5 years following their reforestation. In the event of unhealthy trees, CO2 Compensation Québec will replace the latter to ensure that the carbon offset objectives are met.

In order to reduce our environmental footprint, the first action we have taken is the reforestation of the 8,375 trees making up the first Evive forests.

We will continue in 2022 with the reforestation of at least 4,000 additional trees.

Reforestation is a proven and effective method of carbon offsetting. It creates new forests while providing multiple ecological benefits. These mixed forests are beneficial for fauna, flora and they bring ecological diversity to the land. They also create a local economic contribution through reforestation work, the necessary technical monitoring and eventually provide labor for the teams of silvicultural workers during the forest development projects that will be carried out. Once the trees reach maturity, the harvested wood will be used for various purposes including construction and home renovation. The wood and the carbon it contains will be retained for a much longer period of time.

Evive is committed to minimizing its ecological and environmental footprint not only through carbon offsetting, but also through purchasing organic ingredients, reducing food waste and using recyclable and compostable packaging.

Evive forests are a source of life and we are proud to contribute to the implementation of these new mixed forests. The GHG sequestration associated with them supports our environmental action and our desire to have a positive impact on our community.

Our Tom Thai cubes are the star of this recipe – they are full of Asian inspired flavours which makes for the most savoury soup. Pair with your favourite artisanal bread and enjoy!

Tom Thai Soup:

  • 1 Tom Thai wheel
  • ½ cup coconut milk
  • ½ cup vegetable broth
  • ⅓ cup bok choy, chopped

Steps

  1. Add the Tom Thai cubes, coconut milk and vegetable broth to a small pan over medium-high heat. Stir occasionally, until the cubes have melted.
  2. Add the bok choy and stir well. Leave over heat for an additional 1-2 minutes, until the bok choy has wilted. 
  3. Transfer to a bowl and add desired toppings.

In the last 4 years, we’ve had the pleasure of organizing many initiatives with the Club, such as public fundraisers, distributing smoothies in schools, as well as yearly campaigns. 

We would like to invite you to join us again to help support children & families with Breakfast Club of Canada. With every order, we’re giving breakfasts* to kids in need.

Evive Partners with Breakfast Club of Canada

In the last year, the Club has seen a significant increase in attendance and need for additional breakfast programs. With increasing grocery costs, Canadians are changing their food buying habits, making the challenge of purchasing & consuming healthy food options that much harder. The Club needs to ensure it can continue to reach the considerable number of children that have benefitted from these programs over the past year.

Breakfast Club of Canada helps feed more than 500,000 children in over 3,000 programs in academic and community settings across the country.

Positive impacts of breakfast programs:

  • Improve learning capacities

  • Boost attendance and punctuality

From developing smoothie flavours in my parents’ kitchen to becoming the first-ever frozen smoothie cubes and #1 smoothie brand in Canada, we couldn’t be prouder to share an easy, quick, and nutritious breakfast option with thousands of people on a daily basis. 

It’s so funny to think that not that long ago, Dom used to cut the cubes by hand and pack them loosely in a bag! Our wheels are probably our best innovation as they allow you to save space in your freezer, portion-size, and ensure that the cubes don’t clump up together during transportation. 

Whether you recently discovered our products in your grocery store, or just ordered your very first box, this article will give you all the steps to get the very best out of your Evive smoothie taste-testing journey!

Before you get started, we always recommend that you run your smoothie wheel under water for a few seconds. It makes it so much easier to pop the cubes out!

Make your smoothie WITHOUT a blender

  1. Pop all the cubes in a bottle, a mason jar or your Evive shaker.
  2. Cover the cubes with 240 ml of your liquid of choice (we recommend plant-based milk or water) and close the lid.
  3. Let thaw for a few minutes & shake vigorously (play your favourite song while you do it!).

How to Make an Evive Smoothie

Make your smoothie WITH a blender

  1. Pop the cubes in your blender.
  2. Cover the cubes with 240 ml of your liquid of choice (check out all our liquid recommendations for inspo!). 
  3. Close the lid and blend away.

Whether you’re looking for new snacks to take to work, for your kid’s lunch, or for when you need a little energy boost, we’ve got you covered! Our smoothie cubes are so versatile, and one of our favourite ways to use them is in baking, particularly, muffins! These blueberry protein muffins are vegan, gluten-free and refined sugar free. They feature our Blueberry Haskap cubes which are full of antioxidants and protein – a feel good snack that’s nourishing both your mental and physical health!

Vegan Blueberry Muffins

Ingredients

  • 10 Blueberry Haskap Cubes
  • 1 cup gluten-free flour 
  • 1 cup gluten-free quick oat flakes
  • ½ cup coconut sugar
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • ½ tsp. sea salt
  • ¾ cup oat milk
  • ¼ cup olive oil or avocado oil
  • 1 chia egg (1 tbsp. chia seeds + 3 tbsp. water – mix together and let sit for 5 minutes)
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • Fresh blueberries – for topping

Vegan Blueberry Muffins

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 F and line a pan with 10 muffin liners.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the gluten free flour, oats, coconut sugar, baking powder, cinnamon and sea salt.
  3. In another bowl, combine the oat milk, oil, chia egg and vanilla.
  4. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until combined.
  5. To the pan, divide half the batter between 10 molds.
  6. Add 1 Blueberry Haskap cube to the center of each mold.
  7. Divide the remainder of the muffin batter between the 10 molds, covering the smoothie cube. Top with a few fresh blueberries.
  8. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until baked through and golden brown. Note: The center will still be soft due to the smoothie cube, but the top will become firmer.
