And we see ALL your comments and reactions: we know for a fact you LOVE them too! Now, the real question is: how exactly do we get the ultimate smoothie bowl texture?

Here are our top tips and tricks to create the smoothest, creamiest and thickest smoothie bowl with your fave Evive smoothies.

How to Get the Ultimate Smoothie Bowl Texture
P.S. The flavour you see here is our Asana smoothie (aka our açai flavour!).

  1. We love the unique blender-free aspect of our smoothie cubes, but sometimes, you need to get that blender out. 
  2. Blend your cubes when still frozen.
  3. Reduce the amount of liquid you use: start with just a splash and adjust as you go. You could also completely swap liquid for a plant-based yogurt instead!
  4. Add frozen fruits such as frozen mangoes or berries.
  5. Add ice cubes or frozen coconut milk cubes.
  6. Add creamy ingredients to the mix: bananas and avocados work wonders.

Simply transfer in a bowl and get creative by adding all your fave toppings!

We believe that s’more making should not just be a summer activity, so we decided it was time to make these delicious Vegan Marshmallow Bites featuring our Azteque flavour! These bars contain the staple s’mores ingredients of marshmallows, chocolate chips and graham crackers, while also containing the nourishing superfood properties of our creamy Azteque cubes. Not to mention, they also contain healthy fats and natural sweeteners. No matter the season, these bars are the perfect option for any occasion! 

Ingredients:

Graham Cracker Layer

– 57 g graham crackers
– 1/2 cup raw pecans
– 1/3 cup almond butter
– 2 tbsp. maple syrup 
– 2 tbsp. coconut oil
– 1 tsp. vanilla
– Pinch sea salt 

Chocolate Azteque Layer

– 1 Azteque wheel 
– 1 cup vegan chocolate chips (dark or semi-sweet) 
– 2/3 cup coconut milk (only use thick coconut part and discard water) 
– 2 tbsp. coconut oil
– 1 tsp. vanilla extract
– Pinch sea salt 
– 1 cup vegan mini marshmallows

Steps:

  1. Line an 8×8 inch baking sheet with parchment paper. 
  2. In a food processor, combine all of the ingredients for the graham cracker layer and pulse until well combined. Spread evenly on the baking sheet. 
  3. In a saucepan, heat the ingredients for the chocolate Azteque layer on medium-low heat until melted and smooth. Pour evenly over the graham cracker layer. 
  4. Place in the freezer for a minimum of 4 hours, until set. 
  5. Cut into 16 pieces and top each piece with mini marshmallows. Optional: Use a baker’s torch to roast the tops of the marshmallows or broil the marshmallows on a baking sheet until slightly golden before placing them on top of the squares.

With Valentine’s day coming up this week, what are some things you’re doing to show yourself and the special people in your life some love? Although self-love and acts of appreciation are practices we should be doing on a daily basis, it doesn’t hurt to celebrate this special day of love by highlighting it in your own unique way. This year, we’ve decided to make some delicious pink pancakes! 💗 Thanks to our Viva smoothie cubes, these are the easiest and fluffiest pink pancakes you can make that are completely plant-based! If you’re looking to make it lower in sugar, omit the buttercream. Enjoy xx

Viva Pancakes:

– 2 cups flour
– 2 tsp. baking powder
– 1 tsp. baking soda
– Pinch of sea salt
– 4 Viva cubes, softened
– 1 ½ cups nut milk
– 2 tbsp. avocado oil 
– 2 tbsp. maple syrup 
– 2 tsp. vanilla extract 
– Optional: 1 tsp. beetroot powder for additional colour

Viva Buttercream:

– ½ cup vegan butter
– 4 Viva cubes, softened 
– 1 ¾ cups icing sugar
– 1 tsp. vanilla extract
– Pinch of sea salt 
– Optional: 1 tsp. beetroot powder for additional colour

STEPS

  1. Using an electric mixer, cream together all the ingredients for the buttercream until smooth. Set aside.
  2. In a small bowl, combine all the dry ingredients for the pancakes.
  3. In a medium bowl, puree the softened Viva cubes with a fork. Combine the rest of the wet ingredients in the same bowl and stir until combined.
  4. Whisk together the dry and wet ingredients until just combined. Be careful to not overmix.
  5. Heat a lightly oiled pan over medium heat. Cook the pancakes for approximately 2-3 minutes per side until slightly golden and cooked through. 
  6. Top with Viva buttercream and fresh fruit!

Pad Thai is all about having that fusion of delicious ingredients that provide such exciting textures and flavours! The richness from the coconut milk and rice noodles, crunchiness from the bean sprouts and veggies, and the acidity from the lime yield such a well-balanced bite – it’s no wonder that this dish is so well-liked around the world! Our Vegan Pad Thai is no exception, and the best part is, it’s ready in just 25 minutes. Enjoy!!

Makes 2 to 3 servings

INGREDIENTS:

– 1 Tom Thaï wheel
– 1⁄4 cup natural peanut butter (no added salt, sugar, etc.)
– 6 tablespoons of coconut milk or cream
(can be substituted with water)
– Juice of half a lime
– 1 1⁄2 teaspoon of maple syrup
– 1⁄4 teaspoon of rice vinegar
– 1⁄2 teaspoon of soy sauce & sriracha sauce (optional)
– 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil
– One medium zucchini
– One medium carrot
– A portion of rice noodles (flat type, fairly large)
– 1 cup of bean sprouts
– 2-3 green onions, chopped
– About 1⁄2 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
– 1⁄3 cup roasted peanuts, coarsely chopped
– Optional toppings: fresh cilantro, green onions,
peanuts, lime wedges

STEPS:

1. Place the serving of rice noodles in a bowl and cover them with boiled water. Let stand for 8 to 10 min (or according to the time indicated on the package), rinse with cold water and drain. Set aside.

2. Pop the Evive wheels in a small saucepan and melt over low-medium heat.

3. While the cubes are melting, prepare the other “noodles” with a grater or spiralizer by transforming the zucchini and carrot into zoodles.

4. Prepare the sauce: transfer the melted Tom Thaï cubes to a blender. Add the peanut butter, coconut milk and lime juice (and sriracha sauce, if desired). Blend until smooth and creamy. Transfer to a small saucepan and heat over low heat.

5. Heat oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Sauté the zoodles quickly (2-3 minutes), being careful not to overcook them. Add the rice vermicelli and the sauce. Mix well.

6. Turn off the heat then add the green onions, fresh cilantro, and peanuts and stir. Garnish with more green onions, cilantro, peanuts, and a few lime wedges and serve.

Dom and I always knew we wanted to partner with the major Canadian retailers, to have Evive on their shelves and be more accessible to all Canadians. Loblaws is one of those major partners that everyone dreams of getting into, we were no different!

Our journey began two years ago when Dom first had the opportunity to speak to the frozen buyer. We were so excited and hopeful!

Unfortunately, at that time, they decided that although we had a great business in Quebec that they weren’t ready to list us in their stores.

This moment gave us direction and motivated us to prove that we could be a Canadian success. We believed in ourselves, and we had to figure out how to get the major retailers to believe in us too!

Fast forward to one year ago, we started working with a sales strategy partner who said that we had to build a story that was based on data and facts, something no buyer could ignore!

With that advice, we bought our first and critical piece of data from Neilsen Canada and it showed us just exactly how successful we were! It opened up doors to be able to speak to buyers in their own language of sales, points of distribution and our position within the category.

We built the presentation on New Years’ Eve 2019 so that our broker partners at BNQ Brand Management could present Evive to the category directors at Loblaws the first day back from holiday break, January 2020.

Within a few weeks, we had a YES from Loblaws Company Limited to list our products in their stores across Canada!! 🤩

It was through many ups and downs — like multiple launch date push backs to going from thinking we would be in 100 stores to actually confirming over 400 stores across Canada — that we learned so many lessons about patience, perseverance and never giving up!

We’re excited to be here sharing this wonderful success with all of you as we’ve officially opened up 400 Loblaws stores almost 2 years to the day we first started this journey.

You can find us in most Superstores, Loblaws, Zerhs, ValuMarts, Your independent, Dominion, Maxi’s and Provigo in the organic frozen aisles!

We’ve got a healthier sweet treat for you this Halloween! Our Orange Peach smoothie has made a comeback in our newest Candy Corn Smoothie recipe. During these past few months, we’ve reworked the recipe of the Orange Peach. The smoothie now has an improved texture with 15 g of plant-based protein including 110% of your daily intake of Vitamin C. You should also taste the peaches even more! 🍑

I hope that you enjoy recreating this recipe this weekend with your family. 🧡

Makes 2 servings

1) Orange Peach Layer

– 1 Orange Peach wheel
– 1/2 cup frozen pineapple 
– 1/8 tsp. turmeric powder (optional) 
– 1 cup of coconut milk
  1. Blend all ingredients together until smooth.
  2. Pour equal amounts into 2 glasses. 
  3. Place glasses in the freezer for a minimum of 30 minutes to prevent layers from mixing together

*Note: If you don’t have an Orange Peach smoothie on hand, you can substitute it with the Passion Mango instead.

2) Touk-Touk Layer

– 1 Touk-Touk wheel 
– 1 carrot, chopped (may need to soften a bit if you do not have a high-speed blender.)
– 3/4 – 1 cup of coconut milk
  1. Blend all ingredients together until smooth.
  2. Pour this layer on top of the Orange Peach layer. 
  3. Place glasses in the freezer again to prevent layers from mixing together.

3) Chia Pudding Layer

– 1/4 cup chia seeds
– 1 cup of coconut milk
– 1 tbsp. maple syrup
– 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  1. Combine all ingredients in a bowl and stir together.
  2. Refrigerate for 30 minutes to set.
  3. Once ready, scoop on top of the Touk-Touk layer.

4) Coconut Whipped Cream

– 1 can of coconut milk (400 ml)
– 1 tbsp. maple syrup
  1. Refrigerated the coconut milk overnight and then separated the thickened coconut cream from the water. 
  2. Place the thickened part in a bowl with the maple syrup.
  3. Using an electric mixer, mix until it becomes a whipped cream consistency. 
  4. Top each parfait with a spoonful of coconut whipped cream and enjoy!

*Note: If you are wanting to enjoy the smoothie parfaits right away, avoid freezing between each layer. Freezing only helps to prevent the layers from mixing together, but this step is optional.

Raise your hand if you love fall! 🍂🧡 As colder weather approaches, it’s essential to support your immune system with vitamins and nutrients. Today, we’re making a carrot cake smoothie bowl that’s not only super delicious and comforting thanks to PRANA’s products but also super nutritious. Our Yin smoothie contains over 20 vitamins and minerals, including 150% of your daily value of Vitamin A, 70% of your daily value of Vitamin C, 30% Folate (Folic Acid), and 7 g of protein. Did you know that oats, apricots, and protein help improve your digestive system? Bonus: this smoothie is a good source of antioxidants and fibre!

Preparation time: 10 minutes
Cooking time: 5 minutes 
Yield: 1 to 2 smoothie bowls

Ingredients:

Granola (makes extra)

Smoothie

  • 2 Evive Yin wheels
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened plant-based milk

Toppings

Steps:

  1. Add oat flakes, almonds, walnuts, cinnamon, ginger, cardamom and salt into a medium-sized bowl and mix. Set aside.
  2. Preheat a large pan on medium-high heat. Once hot, add coconut oil and maple syrup.  
  3. Let the coconut oil melt and mix with maple syrup. Once it starts bubbling add the oat mixture and stir to coat.
  4. Reduce heat to medium and cook for 5-7 minutes or until the granola starts being fragrant. Stir regularly and keep a close eye on the granola to prevent from burning. 
  5. Remove from the heat and let cool completely – it will become crunchy as it cools.
  6. Prepare the smoothie by adding 2 Evive Yin Wheels into a blender along with 3/4 cup of plant-based milk. Blend until smooth. 
  7. Transfer to a bowl and top with granola, hemp and chia mix, dried apricots and apple slices. Enjoy immediately.

Since the beginning of Evive, Claudia and I’s parents have been hyper present. By lending us their kitchen and garage for our first production, by participating in most of our events and launches until 2018 – they’ve been so supportive!

With the team in place today, the opportunities to catch shooting star opportunities are less frequent, but my father remains on the lookout. He sends me all the articles that can impact Evive – big or small.

He shared an article with me last April that started a big project at Evive. A new company from Asbestos launched the world’s first hemp fiber insulation. The idea of ​​creating a compostable shipping box was born.

I visited Asbestos for the first time in my life last Fall, and the Evive team and our new partners started the research and development to integrate this unique insulator into our shipping boxes. It wasn’t a small feat since our requirements vary depending on the season, and we have to deliver frozen products all the way to Vancouver!

A few months later, we’re officially launching this compostable insulator box this week, and I’m so happy to bring to view an insulator that you can simply put in your garden. Like a banana peel, it’s an envelope for your smoothies that will quickly return to nature.

We’re proud to work with a local company from Asbestos and revitalize its economy in our own way.
