Here’s how I prepared my delicious smoothie bowl:

Ingredients:

  • 8 Saphir cubes (or any other Evive flavour)
  • 1/2 frozen banana
  • 150 ml of oat milk* (the less liquid you put, the thicker the texture)

*You can also use any other type of plant-based milk!

Steps:

Place everything in the blender and finish with your favourite toppings.

For this particular Saphir smoothie bowl, I put as toppings:

  • Granola with chocolate chunks
  • Vegan yogurt
  • Quinoa puffs
  • Blueberries
  • Kiwis, sliced
  • Strawberries, sliced

My favourite toppings in general are:

  • Granola! My favourite brands are: Fourmis Bionique, Oat Box, & Granolust
  • Of course, the types of fruit I add to my smoothie bowl depends on my mood, the smoothie flavour I made, and what I have in my fridge🙈 But in general, my favourite fruit toppings are strawberries, bananas, & blueberries🍓🍌

I hope you’ll try making your very own smoothie bowl at home! I promise it’s super easy and very satisfying to nourish yourself with such a healthy and delicious breakfast.

There are certain recipes that look so visually appealing, they’re almost too pretty to eat. This beautifully layered smoothie recipe is definitely one of them! 😍 Whether you’re looking to treat a special someone or impress your guests, take a chance on this smoothie masterpiece that’s much easier to make than it looks.

Before You Begin:

The goal is to create smoothies with a thick texture that isn’t too liquidy, in order to separate floors. If the smoothies are too runny, they’ll mix together and you won’t obtain the layered effect.

You could work with a thick ‘nicecream’ texture (for example a few Evive cubes mixed with pieces of frozen bananas/fruit), or you could simply use the Evive cubes with a low liquid ratio (water/plant-based milk/juice).

Note: depending on the size of the glass used for your layered smoothie, you can also halve the quantities mentioned below. However, it will be more difficult to mix everything in the blender, even more so for the frozen banana layers. For the Evive cubes, you can simply place them in a mason jar with the liquid, let it melt, and shake.

Ingredients:

Optional: You may cut fruit into thin slices to stick on the interior sides of a glass with maple syrup. Example of fruits: banana, kiwi, figs, persimmon, etc.

Layered Smoothie #1: Touk-Touk + Passion Mango + banana-coconut

evive smoothie, evive, layered smoothie
Photos by Odile

Touk-Touk Layer

  • 1 Touk-Touk wheel
  • ¼ cup of coconut water

Passion Mango Layer

  • 1 Passion Mango wheel
  • ¼ cup of water

Banana-coconut Layer

  • 1 frozen banana, cut into pieces
  • ¼ cup of coconut milk
  • 1 pinch of ground vanilla or ½ teaspoon of vanilla extract

Layered Smoothie #2: Azteque + Cashew Mocha + banana-choco

 evive, evive smoothie, layered smoothie
Photos by Odile

Azteque Layer

  • 1 Azteque wheel
  • ¼ cup of water

Cashew Mocha Layer

  • 1 Cashew Mocha wheel
  • ¼ cup of plant-based milk

Banana-choco Layer

  • 1 frozen banana, cut into pieces
  • ¼ cup of plant-based milk
  • ½ teaspoon of cocoa powder
  • 1 pinch of ground vanilla or ½ teaspoon of vanilla extract

Steps:

  1. Mix each of the layers and reserve in glasses separately. For the smoothie wheels, you can also pop the cubes in a mason jar, add the liquid and let them melt, then mix well. You’re aiming for a thick texture that’s not too runny.
  2. If you want to place fruit slices on the side of the glass, make sure they are cut as finely as possible. On the surface of the slice that will be placed on the glass, pour a few drops of maple syrup and spread it evenly. The syrup will help the sliced fruit to better stick to the glass without the risk of slipping, although this is optional.
  3. Using a spoon, carefully pour the different smoothie layers into the glass one by one. If you pour them directly into the glass, you’ll risk mixing the different layers together and won’t get the desired effect.
  4. If you’d like, garnish your smoothie with granola, fruits, nuts, dried fruit, nut butter, etc.
